Competition Rules

  1. All competitions will comprise of two categories Prints and Projected Images. Prints entered for all competitions will be open.To partake in club competitions the entrant must have paid fees for the season.
  2. Authors may enter up to six entries per category.
  3. Entries can only be submitted once in a Crwst Camera club competition except those that have qualified for the Print and Projected Image of the Year Competition.
  4. All entries to be compliant with agreed formats: Prints plus mount not to exceed 50cm x 40cm, projected images to be no more than 1600 pixels horizontally x 1200 pixels vertically. Format JPEG. Colour Space sRGB.
  5. All print submissions to be titled in pencil on the reverse.
  6. All competitions will be valid if there are two or more entries in the category irrespective of number of authors. If only one author only the top mark attained will be counted towards The Baron Williams Trophy.
  7. All competitions to be assessed by a visiting judge and then awarded first, second, third, highly commended and commended.
  8. The Baron Williams Trophy will be awarded to the member deemed the most successful Photographer of the Year and will be attained by the member who has acquired the most points throughout the season. Therefore the individual member with the highest overall score, after adding together the print, projected image and audiovisual score totals, is the ‘Photographer of the Year’. In the event of a tie the award will go to the member who has the most firsts then if equal to seconds, thirds and highly commended. If all are equal then it is shared.
  9. The points allocated in the qualifying competitions for the Baron Williams Trophy are as follows: -
  • First 20 points
  • Second 10 points
  • Third 5 points
  • Highly commended 2 points
  • Commended 1 point
  1. The Annual competition will comprise of all entries of that season that have been awarded commended, highly commended and placed, and all members are allowed to submit one additional entry in each category. A visiting judge will then award the Best Print, Digital and Slide of the Year. This is a separate competition and not counted towards the Baron Williams Trophy.
  2. Maximum time for audiovisuals to be twelve minutes overall with a maximum of three sequences. Each sequence should have a title and the length of time. (For example:- Name of Sequence - 4.57).
  3. Inter - club competitions entries will be selected by all members from the best images produced by Crwst Camera club.
  4. Images remain the property of the author at all times and therefore no images can be altered without the authors’ knowledge and consent.
  5. The progressive competition is open to any member who has never won a competition. This is a separate competition and not counted towards the Baron Williams Trophy nor qualification for the annual competition. The Judges will be the first three different winners of the current season's competitions.
  6. No alteration of, or addition to, these rules shall be made except at the A.G.M.
